Hiking: or How Not to Creep Along the Baseboards of Life

Whenever we're in El Paso, Dad takes the opportunity to have an outdoor adventure, a favorite activity of his.  As a child, I was definitely not bit by that bug.  (It's one rare instance of me not being my father's daughter.)  But you get perspective as you get older: adventures are not the end of the world.

Dad has a great phrase: don't creep along the baseboards of life.

We had a great day: I got to spend time with my dad and brothers, got lots of exercise, enjoyed God's magnificent creation, and took some lovely pictures.

We wound up hiking around 6 miles.  I was exhausted afterwards (partly through not having proper footwear) but we had a lovely time.

One of my favorite shots of the day.
If you look closely, you can see the crescent moon.
